4th (5th) of July

We had Chris and Rene' up to our house for the 5th of July
Chris and I took turns doing bubbles to entertain the kids while we barbecued dinner
Ethan and Cassidy both enjoyed sparklers

Weekend adventure

We spent this past weekend at the Romney Cabin up in Christmas Meadows.

Unfortunately Cassidy was sick for part of the Mini Vacation

The kids enjoyed playing on the loft jumping into the Giant Beanbag Chairs
This was an incredible sunset that we saw on Saturday night

Cassie and Ethan

Chris and Ethan came up about 2 weeks ago and Cassie and Ethan started playing together. This was part of the result.
I think she should get an Oscar for this death scene

crazy weekend

Saturday David and Chris were working on the basement, I was at a birthday party with the 3 younger girls, Ben was next door playing and Alex was at a friends house. I was getting ready to help clean up the birthday party when I get a phone call from Chris telling me to meet him outside. I said that I would get the girls ready and I would be out there in just a few minutes. He told me that I would have to come right now. I asked him what was wrong. He told me that David was at the doctor's office with a nail in his finger. I thought it was a joke because Chris likes to play tricks on me, little did I know he was right this time. I asked Robyne to watch Cenna and Ariana and I grabbed Cassie and we headed to the house so I could get my wallet. Alex had called David to tell him that she had come home on time and to see where everyone was. David told her that he was at the doctor's and she freaked out. (She loves her daddy and hates it when he gets hurt at any cost) I in the meantime run into the house, get my wallet and my neighbor saw me in a frantic state and asked if everything was okay. I told her what had happened and she said she would watch Alex and Ben for me. I left with Chris and we were on our way down to the doctor's office. When I get there they tell us that we have to go to the emergency room because there was nothing they could do. So we jump back in the car and head down to Utah Valley. Once we were there we get David checked in and waited. When we got there they immediately took us in for x-rays, then it took a good hour for the doctor to come in and see what he could do. Once the doctor came in he asked if we had a pair of pliers to pull it out with. We thought he was joking but when they brought in a pair of pliers we stopped laughing. They also mentioned a hammer and a metal plate to pry it out with. We laughed at that too but they brought 2 hammers in we again stopped laughing. In the end, they didn't need the hammer just the pliers. After numbing his fingers they took the nail out. Of course I really didn't want to be there when they were going to pull it out, I left the room. I had a nurse come up to me and asked if I was going to be okay. I told her I wasn't sure yet but I would let her know.

The surgical equipment

As you can see it went through the bone on David's index finger and into the middle finger.

Family Photo 2

Here are more family pictures. After the Kids we had some of the whole family and of just Elann and I. I am aware there are not any idividual of Cassidy after the family pictures and kids pictures she'd had enough of sitting still for pictures.

Family Photos

We decided that we needed an updated family photo.
So we had Elann Mom take pictures for us in their yard. Here are the Kids.

Hope of America

Alex recently participated in the Hope of America Program with her class at school. It was held in the Marriot Center at BYU. There were 3 school districts a total of 34 5th grade classes in this picture they sang and had a little program. You get favor points if you can locate Alex in the picture. (Hint she has a red shirt on)

Here are a couple of pictures from her opening Grandma and Papa's presents

Post 2 of 5

We took the kids to the Nicklecade for family night and Cassidy had her own way of playing skeeball.

FYI: for those unaware the nicklecade is an arcade where all the machines are a Nickle.

Post 1 of 5

Many of yo may recall a previous post when Alex did the school wax museum. Well this year was Ben's turn. He was Benjamin Franklin.

A change from the school Alex did this at is that they also had to present their historical person to the class.

$3

I know it has been quite some time since we have posted last and for that I am sorry. We will try and post more. I just need to find the cord to the camera and get some pictures off and then we will be set.

I have a story to share with you. Tonight we took the kids out to dinner for doing well on their report cards. They just opened up a Del Taco near us and I have never been there before so it was a nice treat, it is was a nice change from the McDonalds and Artic Circle not that they are bad, but having hamburgers and fries all the time (when we have the money saved up) can get old. I must say it was pretty good, and the prices are really cheap which we love.

Anyways on to the story, we were enjoying our dinner and spending time together, I decided that I would like to go get another churro because I had one after my dinner and were good, so I wanted to get 2 more to share with the kids. The churros are $.99 not a bad deal, I asked the guy behind the counter that I would like to get 2 more churros to go. It cost me $2.13, I had a $5 in my wallet and remembered I had some change. I gave him a total of $5.13. Now the guy behind the counter was about 17 and I gave him the money, he rang in the churros and before he could put the money in the drawer and give me my change back, he closed the drawer. I don't know if he did it on purpose or what, so he called one of the managers over to help him open the drawer.

He then rang it in again and rang in $2.13 and it said the change was $5.13. He then called another manager over and told him that he needed to give me change, the manager opened up the till and left to help get food out for the drive thru. He has the reciept on the counter and he is trying to figure out how much change to give me. He actually got a pen out and was subtracting it. He then called the orginal manager over the first time that helped him get the drawer open and said "I don't get this, I put in $2.13 and it says I have to give her back $5.13, what am I doing wrong?" The manager looked at him and asked him, "What did she give you?" He replies, "She gave me $5.13 and the total is $2.13"

The manager then tells him, "What is 5 minus 2?" He had this confused look on his face and said "I don't know." The manager then tells him to count down from 5 to 2 with him. He is still confused and the manager helps him, 5...4...3...2. He says you need to give this lady back $3 dollars. He looks at me and says "Do you want quarters back?" I told him "No, I would like 3 $1 dollar bills back." So he grabs a handful of 1's and counts out loud (well loud enough for me to hear him) 1...2...3, and asks me, "is that right". I then told him it was. What would have taken 2-3 minutes to do, turned into a good 10 minutes. All I can say is WOW!!

Passing the Tie

After Christmas we decided to try and clean out the growing horde of clothes that the kids had accumulated. While doing it I decided I should sort through my Ties and cut it down. I will pause for gasps and shock.

The kids wanted to help and so I let them sort them for me. During the sort Ben asked if he could have some of them. I allowed him to keep a couple one of which was my Bow tie. I must say it looks better on him than it ever did on me.

Yes that is hand tied one of many rusty skills I posses

Visit to Mt. Pleasant

We took a trip to Mt. Pleasant and while there we went to lunch at McD's.
Here is the kids playing around on the playland.

Finally Updating

Yes I am finally updating sorry it took awhile.
First here is us setting up the tree.

Hole In One Video

David, Chris and Becky went miniature golfing before the weather went bad. David had hit 2 holes in one and did a dance. Becky and Chris made David a bet that if he didn't get the a hole in one at the last hole he would have to do his dance on camera. I guess he didn't get another hole in one, so here is the video to show what his dance looked like.
