End of the night the guests have left and it is just the family.
So what do you get a 10 yr old. A Radio and CD's. What Cd's you might ask. Turn on any Disney channel and you will see. Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, or Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus)

Kitchen Follies

Well the Kitchen is under way we had to strip it down and clear it off so that Chris could finish the Countertop and the Cabinet doors.

Our Naked Kitchen

The left is the old color of the Cabinet doors. The Stain used messed up on almost all of the doors and they were a blotchy brown color. This right door is the new color done with toner.

All the Drawer fronts I have been missing for 3 months

We're In

Well we made it we are moved in. we are still working on all the unpacking but we are in the house.

Our Living room

Kitchen. We had a stain issue but have confidence that it will get fixed. Ask Chris for details

My favorite room the Master Bath. The tub surround is Cultured Marble for tub to ceiling. After 5 years of showering bent over I can stand straight and shower and the tub is an extra large, so it is wider and deeper than a standard tub. As I said my favorite room in the house.

This one's for Max

Moving along 2

I realize I just did moving along but the house has taken giant leaps and bound in just a couple of days. The outside (Brown coat) is up although it isn't actually brown.

And the Drywall is up and they are taping and texturing.

Phineas and Ferb

There is a Disney cartoon the kids love to watch called Phineas and Ferb. About 2 brothers making the most of summer vacation, and their sister trying her best to get them caught in the act of whatever they are doing that day. It is only a 15 minute show and it is quite funny to watch. Anyway I have been downloading them for the kids to watch and Cassidy has learned that if she hears the theme song it's about to begin and she can watch the show. She gets so excited that we had to catch it on camera for everyone else to see. The best part is when she gets in front of the computer and turns into a little zombie staring at the screen.

Build and Grow

Lowe's hosts a free program called Build and Grow for kids under 12 to come in and build a project. They do this twice a month on Saturday's. We try to take the kids up for as many of these as we can. We remembered the Camera for this one and wanted to share it. They are building Bird houses. For those of you living by a Lowe's stop by and ask about their Build and Grow, our kids love it. They get a free apron and a name tag as well as safety goggles. They use little hammers just their size and the holes are predrilled so they can put the projects together themselves.

Moving Along

Well things are moving along we had the drywall delivered and they started putting it up. the outside has the paper and lath for the stucco browncoat. Give it another week and we will be painting and tiling.

Busy Busy

Sorry about the delay in posts I have been busy meeting with contractors and trying to get inspections done. But hurray hurray the house is under way. (I didn't mean to rhyme) I have the electrical finished ( I made some lighting changes) and have the stucco going up on Tuesday the drywall will begin by Friday. Unfortunately I found out the previous contractor decided to make some changes on his own without approval so I have to get an engineer out to approve the changes made. I never realized how stressful running a project this big could be. I have no idea how Mom and Dad did grandma's house back in high school. I'll update with pictures later. I've just been really busy.

The Barlow's Have A Home?

Well we did it we bought a home. Well 75% of one. This is an unfinished home (I realize that's obvious) that the builder was foreclosed on so we managed to buy it for less than it was worth. We are now finishing it and hope to be in by the beginning of June. It is located in Saratoga Springs (outside of Lehi and before Eagle Mountain) After it is finished we would love visitors until then if you come by expect to be put to work.

Man Vs Machine II

The Defendant The Victim This is the case of Television Vs. Cassidy
It was a quiet night, the kids were playing and Elann went to check on dinner when a thump was heard. There was silence it was so quiet you could have heard a _____ ______. then the blood curdling cry was heard. we rushed upstairs to find Cassidy brutally attacked by the television. The television gave up without a fight and we rushed Cassidy to the Emergency room. The doctors did an examination and then a CT Scan to check for any brain trauma. The Doctor came in and said " She has a Cephalohemtoma", Oh no we cried what can we do, "Leave it alone and it will go away". So we checked her out and went home.
Definition of Cephalohematoma: there is some blood buildup between the scalp and the skull, this bleeding causes a lump (goose egg).
Feel free to fill in the blank with your own analogy

It's Alive

Elann was teasing Cassie with a penny today and to my amazment Cassie started walking to get the penny. Apparently she did this earlier and I didn't know. Here is some short video of her walking.

Since Becky is the only Morbid person I will send the horror story of my toes by e-mail.

Man vs. Machine

I was moving a Washing Machine today at work. Now when you hear washing machine most people think of your standard top load washing machine. This was a Front Load High End machine that weighs 281 Lbs (Pictured Below). Unfortunately in a fight the washing machine will always win. It landed on my big toe and here was the results. (Not a pretty sight beware). It also didn't feel very good. But I learned a very valuable lesson, Never leave your feet in the way of a 281lb machine.

If your so morbidly curious as to what happened to the other toes to make them look like that post a message and maybe I'll tell the story.

Daddy Daughter Date

Cenna and Ariana Seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to doing things with Mom and Dad. Usually because they aren't old enough to do the things Alex and Ben want to do. So today I took Cenna and Ariana on a Daddy Daughter date. We went to the Build-a-Bear workshop where Ariana built a koala bear and Cenna built a High School Musical bear, they had the time of their life picking out the clothes and giving the bears a bath under the fluffing machine. We also went to lunch there in the mall at Sabbaro's Pizza.
It was then off the the games where they rode a couple of kiddie games one is a simulated roller coaster. They enjoyed jumping up and hitting the red light on to of the ride whenever Dad wasn't looking.
