New Car

The (David) Barlow's have joined the bandwagon and bought a Mini Van. A very nice model with roomie interior. The best part is that it's seats 7 which is soon to be our family size. Yes Mom that means we will be visiting more often. Now all we need is for Ryan and Jen to buy one and we can have Mini Van Races, or conventions. I do realize that I posted three times today but as you can see I haven't had a lot of time to post.

Close Call

Wednesday afternoon I got to work like any other day and was getting my area clean, trying to sell carpet and tile when I got a phone call from Elann telling me she was in labor. I was a little surprised because she wasn't due for another 2 months. I promptly call a friend of mine that I hoped would be home and had him go pick up Elann and the kids and meet me at the hospital. (I want to add that I didn't pick up Elann and the kids because I only have a 2 seater truck.) The hospital was great they proceeded to get Elann checked in and the started doing there best to prevent the baby from coming so soon. After 5 hours of trying they finally managed to stop the labor and released Elann so that she could go home. Thankfully Elann's parents were able to come up and take the kids to get them out of the way. We wanted to thank all of you Who Prayed for us during this scary time.

Locked in

A funny thing happened a work. I was closing one night minding my own business stocking shelves, cleaning, I was using the standing forklift putting pallets of tile up and some others down when all of the sudden the alarm went off. I put the forklift in the back and walked up front assuming that someone had just opened one of the emergency exits. I'm not that lucky however and they had all gone home. I had to go to the front door and explain myself to the 6 Sandy Policemen that were outside. I had to show ID and my lowes ID to prove that I worked there and then had to stand out side with them until one of the managers could come back and verify that I did indeed work at lowes. Overall it was an exciting experience.

Christmas Time

Unfortunately we didn't get a whole lot of good pictures on Christmas morning. The kids running around made all of the pictures blurry. but never fear I did get one good one and I'm going to take more with the kids and what they got. This one is of Ben with the tool set he got for Christmas. If you feel the need for more please read Jen's blog and think of my children's faces.

Christmas Eve

Christmas eve is always enjoyable.

The Tree, seeing the kids do the nativity,

and of course Leaving a treat for Santa

I spoke with santa and he enjoyed the treat

In the Nativity Cenna and Uncle Scott were the two wise men. We couldn't find a third.

Ariana and Ben were the Shepperd's in the field with Grandma Romney

Student of the Month

Ben received an award for being a Good Citizen. They call it the Student of the month but they pick 3 per grade for the month. Ben was chosen by his teacher and some of the other 1st Grade teachers. He was very surprised and was unsure what was going on when it happened. Elann was able to be there during the presentation assembly, I unfortunately was still at work.

This is Ben's Principal Ms. Houllhain

Cenna turn's 4

I do realize how behind I am and I apologize I started working in a new area at work and have been getting ready for our Inventory. So I've been a bit preoccupied
Well here is some pictures of Cenna during her birthday. We went to the store and let her pick a cake I didn't feel like cooking and neither did Elann. She got some clothes from her grandma Romney and a book and a pizza play kit from grandma and grandpa Barlow. If you notice in the pictures she doesn't smile on command. If you tell her to smile this is what you get.

Turning two

Ariana is officially 2. I know this is a little late but I'm a little behind. She recieved presents and Cake. Always a joy to give small children suger. out of all the things she got she loves this little bear from Nana and Papa Barlow the best. She carries it everywhere although she was a little confused by the bears earring but now barley notice's it as she gives it hugs and kisses.

Redneck Spanish

Elann and I were discussing spanish meanings the other night (don't ask why we don't know). Anyway I decided that there are some common spanish phrases that just get mistranslated too much so I have retranslated them for your entertainment.

Understanding Spanish the Redneck way
No habla Espanol – I don’t have a cocker spaniel
Cinco De Mayo - The five days of Mayonnaise
(was going to be Cinco de Queso but they couldn't take the after affects of all that cheese)
Adios Amigo – We love Amy Grant
Te amo – We need more ammo
Esta loco en la cabesa – Eric Estrada was crazy and Chips was an awful show
Mi Casa es su Casa – Get me a case and one for you too

In the Redneck spirit my picture is also redneck

Jazz Halftime

During the Jazz halftime a couple of guys came out with a trampoline. We were guessing that the Jazz Bear (Mascot) was going to perform. Boy were we wrong the guy's that brought the trampoline are the world record holders in a couple of trampoline tricks. The clip is the one seeing how high he can get the other. enjoy

Jazz Win

I'm sure it wasn't a big suprise that the jazz would win this game but it was still exciting to get out and see the game live. After an okay start the jazz pulled ahead and by the ned of the first quarter already had a good lead. from there it was downhill for the Memphis Grizzley's once the Jazz gained a 20 point lead they maintained it for the rest of the game at one point even reaching a 30 point lead. They ended up winning 118 to 94. It was quite fun and the fact that there weren't any kids made it that much more fun.

This week on Day's of My Life

Parent teacher conference's are so much fun. I'll bet dad would disagree but for the parent it's not quiet as bad. We get to find out how our offspring are doing in school. Ben is progressing nicely his teacher just loves him he is very outgoing and friendly. Alex has encountered the infamous school bully. Luckily her teacher has also noticed the bully and is taking steps to prevent problems. Cenna and Ariana are just terrors by day and sweet hearts for Dad when he gets home. Ariana has slowly been picking up words she no longer just grunts and points now it's a grunt point and peas (please, for those of you without kids). Elann and I managed to get Tickets to this Saturday's Jazz game and we are really looking forward to it. It will be the first night out without kids in about 4 maybe 5 months. So my picture for the week is a reminder that sometimes dogs are the best security.

Halloween Revisited

I was rummaging through my picture file on my computer and ran across some old halloween pictures. I thought they would be fun to post and view.

Halloween of 2002 Ben was a pumpkin and Alex a Fairy Princess

note the sweats it's always cold on halloween Halloween of 2006 Alex was a Witch
Ben was the Green Power ranger. (His Friend was also the green power ranger)
And finally Ariana was a pumkin last year.

All of our children have worn the same pumpkin outfit for their first halloween.
Cenna apparently is camera shy during halloween I couldn't find a single picture of her.

Blind Ghosts

Halloween is here and the kids at sandy elementary went on a costume parade. They of course planned it for early in the morning so as not to interrupt classes as much so the sun was just coming out when they had it. Boy was it cold.
Here is Ben as the Blue Ninja Turtle
Alex as a Blue Cheerleader. Completely different from the pink cheerleader two years ago.
And the finale my two blind ghosts. We would have had three but I couldn't get the pillow case past my shoulders.
For those wondering no those ain't my kids in the last post.

Ain't Kids fun

Yes I'm aware of the grammatical error in my title. I was going for Sanpete talk. Halloween is almost here I considered dressing as a woman again this year (would make 4 years in a row) but decided it's just to hard to find dresses my size. The kids are excited of course Ben is a ninja turtle this year he and his best friend are going as turtles each a different one. Alex is going to be a princess or a cheerleader she hasn't decided yet. I'm going to throw a pillow case on the other two and they can be blind ghosts (I'm not cutting holes in them). The kids have fall recess this week so they get Monday and Tuesday off and have to go for Halloween I'll never understand this system. Ariana is learning to talk a little and I admit it is cute when she says please she says peas but gets her whole body into it so she is almost kneeling on the P and stands really quick on the ease. She is also learning some of here language from Cenna so Num is food even for the prayer if Cenna says it, it comes out bess num. Oh well we'll work on that maybe get some sanpete grammar into her. My picture this week is kind of self explanatory on the innocence of children. (yes those are baby skunks)

Sickness stricks the Barlows

Being sick is never fun and put all six of us sick at the same time it's even worse it doesn't seem to last long but believe me it's long enough. My picture today is to remind us the parent have to deal with anything no matter how unpleasant.

Mom in training

Ariana decided that her doll needed to be clothed so she got a pair of her own shorts and proceeded to put them on the doll. it took her about 15 minutes but as you can see she managed to get them on.

Lucky Number 5

I was going to censor this picture but figured the Ultrasound was blurry enough

Here are the ultrasound pictures for baby number 5 I'm not prejudice or anything but I think she's cuter than yours James and Lonna. Of course being the size of a Peanut anything is cute.
